How to Handle Your Gown.

- Be sure that any hands that will touch the gown are clean.
- Place the chest face up on a bed so that the skirt end of the gown is facing you.
- Open the lid and remove the viewing cover.
- Make a mental note how the gown is folded (in the chest) so you will be able to re-pack the gown exactly how you removed it.
- Unzip or unbutton the back of the gown.
- Remove the dress so it slips off the bust form, attached to the inside of the chest. Lift the gown out of the chest.
- Lay the dress out on the bed for inspection.
- Replace the gown on the bust form and zip or button in place.
- Re-fold the gown in the chest, as it was when you removed it.
- Tuck in the skirt and train under the bodice and close up the chest.
- Replace the viewing lid, close the lid and slip in the tabs at the bottom of the box.
- Store your gown in a cool dark place.
Remember when you remove the gown from the storage chest the most common stains that may permanently damage your gown are: body oils, perspiration, pick-up soils, make-up, any liquids including moisture from the air, lotions, deodorants, etc.
